Summary of “An eye for an eye”

I want to tell you the whole story from beginning to end. First of all, you should know that we’ve been living in our house more than twenty years in our house. But half a year ago our lives changed. One evening a group of hooligans appeared and screamed “Pakis out, Pakis out” – They even threw bricks through the windows of my father’s shop. He called the police, but when a policeman came, the officer only wanted to check our passports. The yobs carried on and came back during the next months. One evening some people of the PAR – “People against Racism” – as they called themselves, came to us. As soon as the hooligans appeared, one PAR-man took a powerful light and turned it into the direction of the yobs. Some ran away, especially one guy didn’t move. The PAR-man asked his name and the boy ran away as well. I recognized him – he was called Flatface. During the next days and weeks the hooligans stayed away. We were so happy to had a normal life again. One day my brother was thrown from a railway bridge. When I saw him in the hospital, he was covered in bandages and was unable to speak. A few days later he died. Sadness and emptiness entered our lives. We didn’t talk to each other. My father told me nobody did anything about the murder and the hooligans – and the leader Flatface couldn’t be arrested because the police needed proofs to handle. That night I prepeared a petrol-bomb and climbed onto a garage where I waited for the hooligans. They always came from the from the same direction. At midnight they came – holding bear cans in their hands and singing loudly. As I screamed the name Flatface, they turned frightened around and saw the burning petrol-bomb flying towards them.
