Coyote Ugly

The story takes place in New Jersey and New York. Violet Sanford is a young lady who lives alone with her father Bill Sanford in New Jersey and works at a pizzeria. Her hobby is to write songs to sell them to some singer. Vi can’t sing because her stage fright. But her father doesn’t agree and won’t let her go. Well, she still goes to New York and move into a shabby apartment.

There she goes into a bar and meets Kevin O’Donnell. They told Vi that he is the owner of the bar and so she gives Mr. O’Donnell her music tape. But then it turns out that he isn’t something like that and Vi is angry about it and goes away. Kevin moves after her and follows to her apartment until he goes away. She moves on to give her tape to a real music producer, but she is unsuccessful. Afterwards Vi goes to a karaoke bar to sing her songs but she can’t do that in front of the many people. Vi goes home and realize that someone has broken into her apartment and that her money was stolen. Than Vi goes into a café and there she sees some girls talking about their money and their job at a bar named “Coyote Ugly” and that one of these girls wants to go to a college in another town. She goes to the bar and meets the owner of “Coyote Ugly”, her name is Lil. Vi asks for a job by the bar and Lil gave her a night in the bar and Vie must pass the test. There she has to do very unusual things. Vi has to dance but she doesn’t wanted o Lil fired her, but a few seconds later there is a fight. Vi solve the problem and Lil changes her mind and Vi has a second chance. In the next night she has to earn 250$, otherwise Vi has to loose her job. In this moment Kevin O’Donnell comes in and Vi has a great idea. She auctions Kevin for a night and sells him for 250$. The next morning Kevin is at Vi’s door and wants to go to have a breakfast. They drove to a bridge and Vi tells him all about her songs. He wants to help her to overcoming her stage fright. They go to a fishmarket and Vi has to help Kevin to get the fishes out of the container. Afterwards Kevin takes her home. At Vi’s next workingday the situation gets out of control. Vi sees only one last resort: she has to sing. With beginning singing, she solves the problem. After this deed, Lil hires Vi as a “Coyote”. The next day Kevin takes her to his apartment where she has to overcome her stage fright.

After some time, Vi wants to visit her dad for a few minutes. After that she drives home and Kevin tells her that he has a gig* with a music producer. One night her father wants to visit Vi at the bar. He sees the real job from his daghter and was very angry about her that she didn’t tell the truth. Vi often calls her dad but she only speaks on the answering machine.

At the night where she should go to the meeting, she had to work at the bar and Lil doesn’t want to let her go. So Vi calls Kevin and tells him that she hasn’t got time to come to the meeting. He’s very angry about her because he had to pay his comic, which he loves to collect and which are very expensive. During Vi sings and dances at the bar, Kevin is on his way to the bar and therefore Vi breaks the rules, that she isn’t allowed to bring her boyfriend into the bar. Kevin doesn’t like the job from Vi. He’s angry about Vi because she doesn’t realize her dreams. She is angry too because they naver talk about Kevin. Vi asks him what his dream is and he said that this is his dream because in his childhood he lived in a shelter and changed his home every two years.

Vi goes back in the bar and Lil fired her because the broken reason. She goes home and writes songs.

After a few days, Vi goes to the marriage of her best friend. There is Vi’s father, too and her best friend wants to shoot a photo when they dance.

She goes back to New York and as she is on the door the telephone rings and Kevin speaks on the answering machine. Then she gets a call from the hospital: her dad was involed into an accident and has a broken leg. She drives there straightaway. Her best friend is already there. Vi goes to her dad and they made it up. When she goes back to New York she sees Kevin at his appartment with a young women. She thinks that he’s got a new girlfriend and is disappointet with Kevin.

At another day she’s visiting her dad and tells him that she wants to come back again but her dad says that he won’t let her back. He tells her the truth about her mother. In the past, her mother coul sing but she didn’t want it because of her husband and her daughter. So Vi’s dad doesn’t want to make the same mistake again.

So she goes back to New York where she’s working at a normal bar. She decides to go to a songwriter concert. One day at the bar Lil comes to say Vi that she can come back whenever she wants. But Vi doesn’t want to come back.

Later it turned out that the young women in Kevin’s appartment just subbled his appartment because he wants to go to chicago.

On the way to the concert, Vi was uncertain and turns round to get back. But her father convince her that she must turn again.

The Coyotes are on the concert, too. Vie goes on the stage but when she saw all the people she ran away. Kevin was also there and he turned the light off. Vi begans to sing and the light goes on.

3 months later:

LeAnn Rimes sings Violets songs and is very popular. Vi gives Kevin the Comic as a compensation and at the coyote bar is a new girl who isn’t doing fine.

Finally Vi auctions her father.
