Book Presentation: On the Beach

I want to tell you something about the book On the Beach from the author Nevil shute. The book is about The results of a nuclear war. The author Describes the life of the last living people on earth and how they die. The book is a since fiction story and it’s set is the future.

The story takes place is Australia. the main characters are Lieutenant-Commander Peter Holmes and his family.

A Nuclear war has destroyed the whole world except Australia. Now the radiation goes with the wind to Australia. Peter works on a submarine: the scorpion. It’s a US submarine and the commander is Peter’s old friend DwightTowers.

The submarine is protected from radiation so they Make trips to see where the radiation has been yet. When they are on land Dwight has a dinner with peter, his wife and a friend of them Moira Dwight.After the dinner moira and dwight spend some time together and then they fall in love .At the end the radiation reached the town where peter and his friend ‘s live . Now no one has to pay for anything because no one needs money anymore. Also the doctor’s give out the Self-Murder pills because then the people don’t have pain when they die.
