Was hältst du von dem Song Waltzing Mathilda von Rod Stewart? Sag uns eines Meinung!
Das Lied wurde von Tom Waits geschrieben, R.S. hat es "nur" gecovert. Und das
australische Volkslied ist ein völlig anderes Lied, nur der Refrain ist gleich.
Auf jeden
Fall ein toller Song, besonders mit der Whiskey-getränkten Stimme von Waits
(Albumversion).
Nur wenige Songs haben is bisher vermocht mir eine "Gänsehaut" zu bereiten. Den
kann ich auch nicht leise hören. Kalli, 48J.
mathilda war meine erste große liebe... sie war 2,10meter groß. mit ganz kleinen
hupen ;-) .... ohhh... ich muss schluss machen, der wärter kommt und bringt das

Ich finde das Lied einfach toll, höre es oft abends gegen 11 auf MDR, wo bekomme
ich die CD dazu her???

melodisch wunderschön,es gibt sogar ein Chorwerk davon. Ich spiele dieses
Volkslied gerne mit Gitarre und Bluesharp. G.J.G.C.
Als alter Hippi mit ausreichen Deep-, Led-,Pink- und Jethro-Erfahrung muß ich
eingestehen,hier einem musikalischen Schmuckstück begegnet zu sein. Der Text
paßt eigentlich nur zum "Alten Jazzer" Rod.
Thomas 1957; trage diesen Song nur mit Klavierbegleitung vor!!! Zusätzlich
Gitarre zerstört den Charakter des Songs. Bei "Melodie der Welt" in
Frankfurt/Main bekommst Du die Noten. Und trink vorher ´nen Whisky. Kommt
stimmlich besser.
kenne dieses Lied bisher praktisch nur in der Interpretation
von Rod Stewart - obwohl es ja lt.Wiki das älteste und
meistgesungenste australische Volks-Lied sein soll..
nur eines kann ich sagen: mit der Stimme und dieser Intensität von Rod gesungen
gehört WALTZING MATHILDA mittlerweile zu meinen Lieblings-Balladen - als
Hobby-Sänger bin ich immer wieder versucht, es ihm nachzutun..
- aber da merke ich doch schnell, wo meine Grenzen sind..
na ja, aber meine Text-Sicherheit wächst und bald
möchte ich dieses Lied mit Gitarren- oder Piano-Begleitung
mal in einem kleinerern Kreise vortragen..
